The Tower Hamlets Youth Orchestra opened an closed a show at the indigo2 venue at the O2 Dome.
The performance was part of the Gateway 2 Music concert, which brought together over 300 young musicians for 10 East London burroughs, each performing one piece of a varied and exciting programme including orchestral music, jazz, contemporary bands and song. The THYO performed Five Courtly Dances by Benjamin Britten – a marvellous piece to open the show.
The concert culminated with a specially composed piece performed by all of the young people who had been in the show – over three hundred musicians packed the stage for a really special finale.
