A talented group of THAMES SMC Musicians in collaboration with Phoenix School put on a great show as part of the Spitalfields Festival. The Spitalfields Platform concert, under the title One Day Like This… was at the St Leonard’s Church, Shoreditch and gave many of the SMC groups and ensembles a chance to perform a selection of jazz, contemporary and classical hits. A real treat for the audience was to hear some of the pieces THAMES musicians played on a recent tour in Germany – the only performance of some of these numbers in the UK.
The finale of this inspiring evening was an arrangement of Elbow’s hit One Day Like This, performed by all THAMES and Phoenix musicians and singers. A fabulous way to finish – huge applause all round!
